Q: What do you think of vibrating platforms?
Dr. Brown personally likes vibrating platforms and she even has one in her personal office. Her particular piece of equipment is called the Hyper Gravity Gyminator and it is very similar to the Power Plate. Because these machines work by shaking you, some people may not be comfortable using them. However, after looking at hundreds of studies, Dr. Brown has confidence that vibrating platforms do help with building bone density. In fact, they were developed in the first place to help astronauts and cosmonauts regain bone strength after long voyages in space. Also, many strength trainers and body builders use these machines to tire the muscles and accomplish more with less of a workout — just like you would do with our Better Bones Weighted Vest.
Listen to Dr. Brown explain how vibrating platforms work and why she believes it is a great piece of equipment to use. If you are looking to change up your exercise, visit the Better Bones shop and look into products such as our weight belt with flex-metal weights.
