Q. Are weights and strontium enough for my bones?
A drug therapy in Europe involves an unnatural daily intake of 650 mg of strontium. This therapy with its high dosages of strontium that are deposited into bone makes the bone appear stronger on bone density tests. It may help a little, but as soon as you stop taking it, you will lose any density you gained. In the United States we use natural strontium because the synthetic version, which is considered dangerous, is not allowed. And enough studies have not been done. We encourage you to be cautious and know that we at the Center for Better Bones always look for a more natural, healthier approach to bone health. And, of course, exercise and weights are a good way to build bone.
